3. Transportation
TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT (arrival)
TÁXI
Off course, the most convenient
transportation is by taxi (capacity 4 people), which stops just as you get off
from the airport at the exit terminal. The taxis are always nearby, at your
right as you step out from the airport. When you get in the taxi show the name
of the hotel to the driver written in a piece of paper (most of the drivers
doesn’t speak english). The taxi fare from the airport to the hotels where you
will be staying is about € 17,00 - € 20,00. Don’t forget to ask for a receipt.

How
does it work?
From the airport to the city:
The AeroBus is to be found next to the passenger exit terminal. Just ask the
driver to leave you at any one of the hotels that are indicated on the
Aerobus list
of served lodgings (see on the map below). The maximum travel time is 40 min.
How much does it cost?
The ticket is just 4,00 euros
and can be bought inside the bus, and it is valid on any STCP line (Porto line
buses) until the end of the day.
Timetable
There are buses every 30 min, all week, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIRPORT (return)
TÁXI
You can ask the Hotel’s reception to call you a taxi.
AEROBUS
From the city to the airport: Passengers can board the
bus at the stop on Av. dos Aliados (downtown), but all other stops are made
only by prior booking, via Internet or by telephone, so that the AeroBus makes
the shortest possible journey. If you want to request the bus to pick you up
at one of the hotels, you must ask the reception
at the Hotel to make the reservation by telephone
22 507 10 54.
(reservations must be

3.1 Taxi
Taxi services are available at the airport. The taximeter should be set to 1.75
Euros at the beginning of the trip. Just for your own reference, traveling from
the airport to the city center by taxi costs an average of 16 Euros.
Luggage over 55 x 36 x 20 cm implies it has to be carried in the boot - therefore
an additional 1.50 Euros can be charged. Transportation of cradles, baby carriages
and wheelchairs is free of change. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (all day
long) and on working days from 22.00 to 06.00 an additional 20% is changed.
Tips are up to you. Prices charged per trip are the some regardless of carrying
1, 2, 3 or 4 passengers.
3.2 Rent-a-Car
There are several rent-a-car services at the airport. To rent one of these cars,
you just have to go to the respective rent-a-car counter or contact you travel
agency in advance.
